This 65-years old lady presented with chest pain and an echocardiogram was performed. This showed a left atrial mass and the working diagnosis was of a mass, though the cardiologist was not sure he could rule out a neoplasm.
On the cardiac MRI, the thrombus was seen to be hypertense on the HASTE axial image (Fig. 1) with complete absence of enhancement on the delayed hyperenhanced images (Figs. 2-4). The cine files and the perfusion study showed the lesion well.
